Downtown that is.
Yesterday morning the three oldest Chicklets had theater classes downtown, so I decided I would take Baby Chickie and Fit Stanley on a tour of downtown Lafayette. We had a great time and got in some good exercise as well.
Here we are, just starting our journey. I decided to wear Baby to give me a little extra burn for our walk around town. At 24-pounds, this is a much better choice than pushing a stroller. Plus, I got the added bonus of extra baby snuggle time.
You can see, I failed to plan and was not wearing appropriate footwear for our walk. Oh well, live and learn right? You can also see my yummy baby snuggles. Love that kid. Fit Stanley got some baby snuggles too.
We started out at the theater where the kids were taking their classes. They each won scholarships and were able to take the classes for free. So fun!
Fit Stanley was loving all the fall colors and the crunch of the leaves under his feet. It was a beautiful day for a walk around town.
I had to show Fit Stanley all of the nearby local landmarks. Here he is in front of our courthouse.
Of course, I had to show him my favorite Saturday haunt, the Farmer’s Market. We won’t get to go this week, since we will be walking to support sweet Ashlyn (last day to donate-would you consider helping us out?), but a visit to downtown would not be complete without seeing my favorite place.
Here we are in front of a local candy shop. You can see I have my pouty face on but no amount of begging would change Fit Stanley’s mind. He was NOT letting me go in there. Wise move, little buddy.
Fit Stanley also made me obey all of the traffic rules. Sigh.
I wore Fit Stanley out so he decided to rest on this bench for a couple of minutes. Haha! Victory!
It was time to be finishing our walk. Fit Stanley reminded me of the importance of staying hydated.
Okay, Fit Stanley. I hear ya!
And how about some for Baby Chickie too? Didn’t his mama ever teach him not to drink and drive?
Fit Stanley tried to convince me to let him drive home. I wouldn’t hear of it though. Baby Chickie got the boot too!
As soon as Fit Stanley was buckled safely in his seat, we headed home. I think might need to get that guy a booster.
I forgot about my pedometer app on my iphone until we were almost done with our walk so I have no idea how far we went. It was several city blocks. We walked for about 35 minutes. All in all, I’d say it was a successful trip with some good exercise.
Thanks Fit Stanley!
Tune in tomorrow as Fit Stanley joins me as a member of Team Ashlyn’s Rubies! If you follow me on Twitter , Fit Stanley and I will be live tweeting the walk.
