This week’s weigh-in: 301.4 pounds
Oh my goodness y’all, it feels so good to be back to blogging! I apologize for my long absence but I had a fabulous time in Florida and enjoyed unplugging for a bit. It was really hard to leave The Chick Magnet, especially when all of my kiddos were sobbing in the back seat as we drove away. Totally heart-breaking. It will be such a relief when we can all be together again for good.
If you have hung in there with me while I was gone, I owe you a HUGE thank you. I have missed blogging and missed all of you so much. You provide me with so much accountability and encouragement. I am convinced I have some of the best readers on the planet. Thanks for sticking with me and being patient. Things are crazy in my world right now but hopefully someday soon we will get back to some semblance of normal. I am ready!
I am so pumped to have logged a loss this week. I don’t care one iota that it wasn’t even a pound. The scale is moving in the right direction and I am getting closer and closer to my next big milestone every day.
I had lots of factors working against me the last couple of weeks, which makes me especially proud of this measly little loss. First, I was traveling-which meant driving long distances and sitting for hours on end. Traveling is notoriously hard on weight-loss efforts. Second, there was Thanksgiving. Need I say more? Third, my favorite aunt showed up while I was in Florida. Fourth, because of the traveling and not being in my comfort zone my exercise and eating habits have not been what they should be. So the fact that I lost, no matter how small it was, is a total victory for me. Pretty sure I have NEVER lost weight at Thanksgiving before!!!
So, on to the fun part-our monthly pictures!!! Let me know what you think!
I can’t tell much difference over last month, though I do see a difference in my face. I try to focus on looking from the before picture to the now picture and I am thrilled that there are definite changes there, even if the change from one month to the next is slight.
For the record, I lost 4.6 pounds in November, which I am simply over-the-moon about, especially seeing as though I actually gained a pound in October. My goal for November and December was to simply not gain, as I do every year during the holidays. So a loss, in my book, is total bonus!
Oh my, my hubby is looking GOOD!!! His transformation has been even more dramatic as he has lost over 70 pounds in 5 months. I can tell a definite difference over last month in his face and “love handle” area. There is not much handle left to love!
I know I joke a lot about being jealous of his amazing success, and to be perfectly honest, there is some truth to that. But, I am so, so proud of my man and I LOVE bragging on him! I am so thankful for his commitment to supporting me and bettering himself. He is an amazing husband and father and I am so blessed. Sorry girls, he’s taken!
That’s the truth.
How did November treat you?
If you are like me, December can be an especially crazy month. How do you plan to stay on track in the midst of holiday parties, family get-togethers, carry-ins, and Christmas-time busyness?

CHICK! You are doing grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat! Just think, it could be next week when you finally break that barrier! I am so glad you’re back to the blog because I’ve been missing you and your wonderful words! I can’t even believe the change in the Magnet! Holy cow… you’ve got a hottie on your hands! Woot Woot! You need a babysitter for a few days??? LOL Congrats on all of your success. Thank you so much for the motivation you give to me and countless others!!!
Welcome back! I’ve missed reading your posts. Congrats on your Thanksgiving loss. Like you said, any loss during Thanksgiving is impressive.
I totally get where you’re coming from about that little feeling of jealousy concerning how easy it is for men to lose weight. Have you seen that commercial with the little cartoon figure of the stick people where the woman says her husband decided to lose weight, so he stopped drinking sodas and dropped 10 pounds. She ate nothing but salads for a month and lost a pound…or something like that. There is so much truth to that. Hand in there, though. You’ll catch up!
Welcome back! I have missed you! You are doing great!!!I I can tell a big difference in your photos! Woo HOo!!!!
Chick … guys just lose better! It totally stinks! Don’t cha love having a supportive hubby?? It is so grand. I am glad he has been going through this with you … it makes all the difference in the world having such wonderful support.
Blessings and CONGRATS on losing in NOVEMEBER!
