Hey everyone! Happy Friday to you! I am not too thrilled about the fact it is Friday because that means The Chick Magnet is leaving in just a couple of days. Boo on that!
This week, since The Chick Magnet is home and I have sick babies (AGAIN!), I am not going to be continuing my story from last week as those posts typically take me hours to write and pray over. Instead, today, I just wanted to share a song with you that has been speaking to my heart lately that I hope will speak to you as well. I will continue next week where I left off last week.
Here are the lyrics:
Free, by Dara Maclean
Hurting heart and broken wings
Cannot stop Your love from always finding me
No more days wasting away
I finally realize the gift inside of me
My strength alone will never be enough
But Your arms keep lifting me up
You tell me I’ve been made free
You give me everything I need to walk in my dreams
You whisper words that free my soul
You’re the reason I have hope
You’re everything I need and more
You made me
You made me free
I was caged in, then You opened
Every door that held me bound and You gave me the key
No more pressure I can just breathe
The girl I tried so hard to be, has always been me
My strength alone will never be enough
But Your arms keep lifting me up
You tell me I’ve been made free
You give me everything I need to walk in my dreams
You whisper words that free my soul
You’re the reason I have hope
You’re everything I need and more
Now I’m free to love, free to live,
Free to take my life and give it all to You
You tell me I’ve been made free
You give me everything I need to walk in my dreams
You whisper words that free my soul
You’re the reason I have hope
You’re everything I need and more
You made me
You made me free
You made me
You made me free
Give it a listen. It speaks directly to this entire Freedom Friday series and the process I have been growing through to be released from the chains of food addiction and feelings of self-hatred and the self-destructive behaviors that were a result of living in bondage.
I love the idea, as I spoke about a couple of weeks ago, that we have ALREADY been made free. It’s already been taken ahold of for us. The work has already been accomplished and we no longer have to live in slavery. It’s time to break free!
As promised, I also have a winner from last week’s giveaway, selected via random.org. The lucky winner was comment # 11, written by Lauren:
I love reading this blog! You are so encouraging and I thank you for writing about your story! I know I can relate to stuffing my face when hunger isnt the issue! Thank you again! ![]()
Lauren, check your inbox. I’ll be emailing you soon!
Have a great Friday everyone!
