Every week, I like to look back at my list of goals to see how I am doing. Having written goals has become an important discipline in my life. Goals are only useful, though, if they are continually evaluated. That’s what I try to do in this post every week. Here’s a re-cap of how my week went:
1. Daily Scripture reading
I didn’t do great with this, this week. I did complete all of my Bible study for the week but because I forgot a couple of days I ended up having to double up on a couple of other days to finish it. Obviously, that’s better than not doing it at all, but I really like to linger over my study so I can really think about it and let it sink in, rather than rush through it just to get it done. This week will be better.
2. Weekly unplug
I did this on Sunday. It was so nice to have a relaxing Sunday with my husband home. We even took a nap together! It was awesome!
3. Weekly lesson planning
Since The Chick Magnet is home this was our spring break so no lesson plans required this week!
4. Track calories daily on My Fitness Pal
I took an intentional break from tracking this week. With having my husband home and celebrating my son’s birthday we’ve had some different meal plans than usual that include eating out, eating in other people’s homes and making special meals that we only see a couple of times of year. I am sure my calorie intake has been more than normal, but I’ve just been trying to focus on having my hubby home and enjoying our time together. Tomorrow night is date night and we are going out to a local restaurant which only buys local meats and produce. How awesome is that?
5. Drink at least 64 ounces of water daily
I have not been paying very close attention to this, although since I am working out more I just naturally drink more water. I am guessing I came close to the 64 ounces every day, but not my ultimate goal of a gallon a day. And I can definitely tell a difference! I feel so much better when I am adequately hydrated.
6. Get 6-8 hours of sleep every night.
Eh. I’m doing so-so on the goal right now. I have not been getting in bed at a decent hour, but since we are on spring break and I am not worried about school, I have been getting up with the kids rather than waking up earlier. They are usually up anywhere between 8 and 9 so I am getting close to 6 hours and sometimes more.
7. Exercise 4-5 times, EVERY WEEK
DONE!!! Yipee! I have exercised every day this week and I am keeping up with my new challenge, 100 Mile March. I do have to say that I will be relieved when the month is over and I can add a little more variety to my workout routine as I get bored easily, but I try to challenge myself and do different speeds and inclines to try to liven it up as much as possible. My favorite is getting to walk outside with my dog and my family. We’ve had a few nice days where I could do that but it’s still pretty chilly here. Hopefully, I will get to do more of this next week!
8. Lose 1.3 pounds each week
This week I took a pass on the scale.
9. Blog 4-5 times, EVERY WEEK
This post makes number 4!
How did this week go for you? Still going strong on your own goals for 2012?

You are doing a great job on your goals – and you’ve got a lot of them. One of my little goals is to leave my computer upstairs when the kids are home. I’ve done “okay” on that one.
