If you have been reading this blog for any length of time, you know I am a firm believer in setting goals. I like to set small, SMART goals and I review them here on the blog every week. I also like to set more ambitious monthly goals. You can read more about my goals for the month of August right here.

To re-cap, here are my August goals:

Goal #1: Track my caloric intake daily and remain within my alloted calories 95% of the time.

Eek. I just checked my reports on My Fitness Pal, and I only tracked 18 days out of the month of August. Granted, I spent a few days in Florida with no internet access so that contributed to those days I didn’t track (though I did try to keep track in my head, though apparently not very well since I gained that week). Grr. I hate not meeting goals I have set for myself.

Goal #2: Exercise at least 4 times per week.

According to My Fitness Pal, I didn’t meet this goal, but I know there were days I exercised but did not track them on MFP. I came very close if I didn’t quite get there.

Goal #3: Lose 10 pounds in the month of August.

Ugh, another goal not met. Geesh, I’m starting to sound like a broken record! I started out the month of August at 312.2 pounds and at my last weigh in I was down to 306.4 pounds, for a total loss of 5.8 pounds. Boo hoo! But I refuse to be disappointed with an almost 6 pound loss. I still am averaging more than a pound a week and have lost a total of 23.6 pounds in just over 2 months. I can NOT complain about that.

Goal #4: Drink at least 100 ounces of water at least 90% of the time.

Yep, not met. But I have a new plan for that.

Goal #5: Lose at least 2 inches in all my measurements (waist, hips, chest)

Man, this is getting a little embarassing. I didn’t meet this goal. I lost 1.5″ on my chest, .5″ on my waist and 1″ on my hips. At least those numbers are moving in the right direction.

Goal #6: Blog a minimum of 5 times a week.

I didn’t go back and look week-by-week, but I did write 24 blog posts in the month of August, so it averages out. Yes, I got one!

So after reviewing those goals I am thinking they were a bit ambitious. I am all about setting realistic goals that are attainable. I don’t want to set myself up for failure, but I do also want to push and challenge myself. So here are my goals for the month of September.

1. Complete the 30/40/50 Challenge

2. Track my caloric intake on My Fitness Pal, 90% of the time

3. Drink at least 80 ounces of water daily

4. Lose 10 pounds in the month of September (I’m keeping this goal because I totally think it is doable)

5. Lose 1″ from all of my measurements this month

6. Blog at least 5 times a week

And now, the moment you have all been waiting for, our two month progress pictures. I apologize in advance for the poor quality and lighting. Photographer I am not. I don’t even play one on tv.

If you have been reading this blog for any length of time, you know I am a firm believer in setting goals. I like to set small, SMART goals and I review them here on the blog every week. I also like to set more ambitious monthly goals. You can read more about my goals for the month of July right here.

To re-cap, my goals for the month of July were:

Goal # 1: Lose 10 pounds by July 4th.

To be honest I am not sure if I made this goal-if I didn’t I made it shortly thereafter.

Goal # 2: Purchase and read “Made to Crave” by Lysa TerKeurst , by August 1st.

Yeah, this one didn’t happen, unfortunately. I procrastinated buying the book and now since my husband is job-less, I probably won’t be buying it anytime soon. But it is still on the top of my “to read” list.

Goal # 3: Have a structured work-out (in other words, mopping my floor doesn’t count) at least 3 times per week for the entire month of July.

I met this goal every week except the first week in July. If you recall there was a little debacle involving some blisters. Other than that, I did meet this goal, and even had weeks where I exceeded it.

Goal # 4: Stay below my calorie goal (1710 calories daily) every day for the entire month of July.

I went over my calorie goal twice in the month of July. Once was when I allowed myself a treat at the fair and the other was when I made biscuits and gravy, but I hadn’t calculated the calorie content until it was too late. All in all though, I don’t think that’s too bad.

Goal # 5: Lose 10 pounds in the month of July.

I accomplished this goal. I have lost 17.8 pounds since June 24th!

Goal # 6: Blog about my progress, triumphs and struggles at least 5 days out of each week during the month of July.

I didn’t go back and count but I am pretty sure I met this goal.

So, after reviewing my month and making some adjustments, I have come up with some new goals for the month of August. They are:

Goal #1: Track my caloric intake daily and remain within my alloted calories 95% of the time.

Goal #2: Exercise at least 4 times per week.

Goal #3: Lose 10 pounds in the month of August.

Goal #4: Drink at least 100 ounces of water at least 90% of the time.

Goal #5: Lose at least 2 inches in all my measurements (waist, hips, chest)

Goal #6: Blog a minimum of 5 times a week.

And now, the moment you have all been waiting for, our one month progress pictures.
